HOMEWORK:

• Watch the PBS and other documentary sources [search Documentary on Netflix, etc...]
• Watch the interview sections and look for, among other things
• Framing (rule of thirds?  what kind of background?) Angle (straight on or artsy?) Lighting (warm? dramatic?)  Sound quality (background noises? other distractions?)
• Analyze how they show or represent data
• Are they simply talking about it? Do they use a chart or a graph? Is it animated? Does the action STOP or is the data WOVEN in to the story?
• Other elements of the documentary
• Types of shots?  Other photographic rules and tricks?
