MON/TUE/WED/THU: Photoshop PSA Completion Worktime

  • Family Conferences are the week after Spring Break: YOU SHOULD BE SCHEDULING THEM IN ADVISORY TODAY AND TOMORROW.

    1. Finish selecting your images
      1. Call John over as SOON as you have ONE complete folder of images  [instructions below]
    2. Create a new blank document in Photoshop using the dimensions from the Project Assignment Sheet (yellow)  [instructions below]
    3. Assemble a ROUGH version of your image.  
      1. Get everything into the right spot
      2. Do rough selections if you need to 
        1. Don't spend an hour selecting something out only to find out it doesn't work for your design
      3. Don't forget your Methods and Appeals  [listed below]
    4. Consult with your partner until the rough draft is finished
    5. When your rough draft is completely finished call John over for feedback (do NOT stop working)
    6. Use feedback to complete your PSA 
    7. Cycle through more FEEDBACK/REVISIONS as necessary
    8. Turn in your PSA.PSD and PSA.JPG by the end of class WED/THU
      1. You must turn in both files/formats to receive higher than a C
      2. Focus on QUALITY as you complete your PSA 
      3. If you can complete BOTH of your PSA's well you will be given extra credit
    9. Get ready to make movies when we return from Spring Break!

        • Clean up the PERIOD Drive on your new computer 
          • Create a folder named OLD  (R-Click | Create Folder)
          • Drag all the crap into it
          • Create a second folder with your name
            • INSIDE your new folder create two OTHER folders named
              • PSA1
              • PSA2
      • Using your MESSAGE SKETCHES 
        • Search Google Images for components of your design.
        • Start with your TOP Design and place images for that design in the PSA1 folder in your Period Drive
      • Once you have completed selecting images for PSA1 call John over.
      • If all is good John will have you repeat the process for your BOTTOM Design.
    • Image requirements
      • 8x10 - 300PP


      • No WATERMARKS
      • No MEMES
      • No IMAGES WITH WORDS ALREADY ON THEM (except signs)

        • Peer Review of Message DRAFTS [10-]
          • YOU are responsible for telling your partner if they are ready to go on to the next step.
          • Look at their MESSAGE DRAFTS
            • Did they really put some thought into it?
            • Are at least THREE messages fully written out?
            • Are TWO of them high enough quality to draft a sketch of or do the ideas really need more work before a design can be begun?
          • Remember your methods & appeals 
          • If ANYTHING is wrong have your partner go back and do a better/more complete job
          • If EVERYTHING is good to go then initial their Yellow Form and assign them 2, 3 or 4, points. If you can't give them at least 2 points then they need to do more work.
          • Move on to their MESSAGE SKETCHES
        • Peer Review of Message SKETCHES [10-]
          • YOU are responsible for telling your partner if they are ready to go on to the next step.
          • Look at their MESSAGE SKETCHES
            • Did they really put some thought into it?
            • Are BOTH sketches detailed enough to understand the design ideas without explanation?
            • Are BOTH design ideas COMPLEX enough to get a good grade when completed? 
          • If ANYTHING is wrong have your partner go back and do a better/more complete job
          • If EVERYTHING is good to go then initial their Yellow Form and assign them 2, 3 or 4, points. If you can't give them at least 2 points then they need to do more work. 
          • Have your partner move on to their DRAFT IMAGES
        • Selecting your Rough Draft Images [40+]
          • Clean up the PERIOD Drive on your new computer
