  • LESSON:
    • Adding MUSIC & OTHER OUTSIDE AUDIO
      • ZERO BAD WORDS (no swearing, no ethnic slurs, no misogynistic lyrics)
      • Videos with instrumental soundtracks get higher scores
      • If the audience pays more attention to your music than your content then youR GRADE GOES DOWN
      • You can add ANY mp3 to your timeline by DRAGGING it from your FINDER
      • Do NOT use the music feature in iMovie
      • Do NOT use the iTunes integration in iMovie
    • Downloading an MP3 for your school projects
      • [NOTE: This is a FAIR USE case - it is illegal do download these songs for non-school use]
There are many services that will strip audio from online videos, this is one that currently works well BUT it does have a tricky AD component

If you enter a YOUTUBE url here you will get that specific song
Not all YOUTUBE songs can be converted to MP3

Select the song from the list and
      hit DOWNLOAD

Do NOT be fooled by the ADS or other shenanigans at this point
It will probably take you to another web page or do something weird
Simply click back to the tab that has the search box with your song on it
Do NOT download or install anything
       ESPECIALLY THIS

You should see it doing something official like this

When you get the SECOND DOWNLOAD button
      push it

Your MP3 will download in the bottom
      left of the browser window
[YOU MAY GET HIT WITH THE ADS AGAIN]

       When it has finished downloading
MOVE it from Downloads to your PERIOD DRIVE

TO PUT IT IN YOUR TIMELINE
DRAG IT FROM YOUR PERIOD DRIVE
    • Adding TRANSITIONS
      • They work just like titles, but they eat little bits of your video
      • If your video clip is too short some transitions will not be allowed
      • Use simple transitions
      • Use only a few different styles of transitions - settling on only one is often best
    • EXPORTING (and uploading to Google Classroom)

iMovie | File | Share | File

      • PRACTICE your editing skills using the practice footage
