Weds/Thurs: [VP] Finishing our How-To

Warm-Up:  

  • NOW Get To Work

    • Weds: I can Import my How To Footage
    • Weds: I can begin editing (cutting, adding titles and transitions) my How To Video
    • Thurs: I can finish my How-To video
    • Thurs: I can export and submit my How-To video
      Announcements: 
      • ALL Periods: your grades are in - check them for accuracy
      • YEARBOOKS MIGHT STILL BE AVAILABLE - USE THE LINK IN YOUR EMAIL!
      • You have 100 Minutes to finish your How-To Video (40+60)
      • BRING HEADPHONES EVERY DAY - but don't have them out unless you are told.
      • NOTE: Shoot ONLY HORIZONTAL video 
        • VERTICAL video will NOT be allowed 
        Homework:
        •  Finish LAST MINUTE filming FOR your "How To" video

          • Name your film: How To FillInTheBlank - Your Name [EX: How To Twerk - John Kittredge] 
          • Make the description descriptive
          • Choose 720P or 1080P
            • 720 is fine and faster [and makes a smaller file] - use this when your work is good but not going to win any awards and/or when you need it to go fast!
            • 1080 is better and slower [and makes a bigger file] - use this when your work is really good and you have time to export it.
          • UNCHECK ADD TO THEATER
          • Make sure you are saving it in your DATA DRIVE and hit SAVE


        • WORK-TIME (40)
          • Editing and Export your How-To
          • UPLOAD TO YOUR GOOGLE CLASSROOM
          • REMEMBER TO FOLLOW THE PROJECT REQUIREMENTS BELOW!
        • If you DO NOT have any footage of your own
          • Call John over to make a plan
          • Write that plan down and execute it!
          • Practice your skills on the provided footage

        • The project requirements:
          • These are the minimum requirements for your video.
          • You will receive an “Application of Knowledge” grade for following these requirements as listed below:
            • Individual or PAIR project
              • Individuals are eligible for an "B" by meeting the requirements
              • Pairs are eligible for an "B" by EXCEEDING the requirements
            • Individuals that need to borrow equipment can speak to John after class. Pairs must use own equipment
            • Video must effectively teach an entire concept
            • Video must be between 60 and 120 seconds long - unless approved otherwise
            • Every clip must be 5 seconds or shorter when edited
            • Video must include at least 5 different shot types
            • Video must have approved storyboard before shooting with Shot Types and Dialogue indicated
            You must utilize your photographic techniques (light/angle/rule of 3rds/etc…) as well as pay attention to sound quality and camera motion as discussed in class
