MON: iMovie soft start & Photoshop Portfolio time

iMovie SOFT START: The weeks ahead...

Between now and the end of the year you will be making three movies.  The success of these films will depend on how much you prepare and do outside of class. Much of this work is to be done during the Portfolio Defense Minimum Days.  As we work to finish our Photoshop Portfolios we also need to spend some time thinking about what films you will want to make in these three categories:

  • How-To: What do you know how to do that you can teach someone to do completely in a minute or less?
  • Public Service Announcement: What issues do you care about? Can you explain why others should care about any of them in 2 minutes or less?
  • Featurette: If you could make any short film what would it be?
    • School appropriate
    • 3-5 minutes
    • Only SCRIPTED, Edited films
      • no "YouTube" style videos (no day in the life, no unboxing, no ASMR, no video gameplay, no extemporaneous films of any kind )
*************************************
You have FOUR Classes
to complete your
Photoshop Portfolio

Work Order:
  • First: Figure out which REQUIRED** Photoshop images you have already done
    • Students who have been keeping up will likely have at least 6 of the 9 images already done
  • Second: Figure out which of the ones that you have already completed need to be worked on some more.
  • Third: Think about which independent projects you are going to attempt
    • 1 for a "B", 2 or more for higher than a "B"
  • Fourth: Plan out your time for the remaining classes
    • Plan how you are going to accomplish the goals you set out for yourself in the 2nd and 3rd steps.
  • Last: Get to work
    • ReWorking or completing old REQUIRED** PORTFOLIO projects
    • Conceiving and completing your independent projects
    • Exporting JPG's of your completed Portfolio Images
    • Uploading the required files to the correct Google Classroom Assignment.
HOW you get HELP!
  • First: Ask yourself for help first
    • Try to figure it out, if you learned the skill you can solve the puzzle!
    • Look at the PSD you already did that includes that skill - it migh jog your memory!
    • Use your resources; go back and watch the part of the tutorial for the skill you are struggling with; Google your problem and see if the answer pops up!
  • Second: Quietly ask others in your POD if they can help you
  • Third: Call John over for a consultation

Remember:
BACK-UP your files & RESTART your computer @ the END of the class
