Outline & Linking + Web work day #3


Purpose:  I will outline my personal website


Agenda:

    1. Login to email
    2. Open a new google doc
    3. title it:    DRAFT - Block ? - Website Outline - First Lastname
    4. Share the document with John@EnvisionAcademy.org
    5. Copy the following into the google doc:
      1. Personal Page (DUE NEXT CLASS) - One, serious, page about your history, where you came from and what you do these days.  Images will be similar to ones used in your ME Keynote.

Personal Totem Page (DUE FRIDAY) - a page devoted to SOMETHING that represents you.  A dancer might choose her ballet shoes, a musician his instrument, someone who keeps to themselves might choose a wolf... You will need to write about why this totem represents you and artistically illustrate the item.

      3. Dreams - a page about what you hope the world will become and how you might help that happen.  This is also where you can talk about your college and career plans. Images might include logos of your intended college.

Back Up That! and web work day #2


Purpose:  I will set up my cloud back-up account 
and continue working on my personal website


Agenda:

    1. Say hi to Mr. Edwards, he'll be your teacher  today.  Sorry I'm not there - not feeling so good.  Back tomorrow!
    2. Today in History, January 28th: 
      1. 1986 – Space Shuttle programSTS-51-L mission – Space Shuttle Challenger breaks apart after lift-off killing all seven astronauts on board.
  2. Lesson (We do)
    1. Today Mr. Edwards is going to run you through signing up for a "Cloud" back-up solution. If you finish on time you may have some time at the END to work on your website
      1. By using this back-up solution you will be able to:
        1. keep a good backup of your school files the entire time you are at EA!
        2. not need to trip out when someone is at your computer, because your files will be there in the cloud!
        3. be able to get to your school files from any computer, anywhere in the world (when you are sick or traveling!)
        4. be able to get to your home files from school!
        5. be able to turn files in to me simply and easily!
    2. You will need to use a different browser than Chrome - Mr. Edwards can explain why
      1. Use SPOTLIGHT to find Safari 
      2. Follow Mr. Edward's instructions exactly
        1. You MUST use your school email to sign up for this
    3. Once you are finished and Mr. Edwards has confirmed that you have set-up your account, backed up your folder, and tested that backup,  you may either:
        1. Finish your EA page that was due on Friday.
        2. Begin to write and design your personal page.  HERE IS AN EXAMPLE of a personal site that was done last year.
        3. Do quiet homework or reading for another content class.

    PSA Workday #4 of 4 - El Fin


    Purpose:   I will submit my Photoshop PSA and reflection on the correct Google Doc by the end of the period.

    No typing web today!

    Agenda:
    1. Announcements (We do): 
      1. An Interesting Day in History: On January 18h, 
    2. SCHEDULE: NO JOHN (All periods) - Add reflection & Rename document SUBMIT
      1. The reflection will take some time to write so by TWENTY MINUTES INTO THE PERIOD EVERYONE must have STARTED the reflection
      2. To make sure all source and final images are inserted correctly EVERYONE MUST STOP WORKING IN PHOTOSHOP 10 MINUTES BEFORE THE END OF THE PERIOD.
    3. Work time (YOU do)
      1. Submit the following:
          1. Your finished Photoshop Public Service Announcement, which consists of:
            1. At least three separate images combined into one final image
            2. On an important topic
            3. EXPORTED from Photoshop as a JPEG (click here for instructions on exporting your final image as a JPG file)
            4. Inserted at the BOTTOM of YOUR GoogleDoc REtitled: Submit - Block ? - PSA - Firstname Lastname
          2. A completed GoogleDoc will consist of:
            1. All of the outline boxes at the top completed with your plans for the final image.
            2. Each source image inserted into the document directly AFTER the text boxes.
            3. The final image inserted into the document at the AFTER the source images.
            4. The REFLECTION written directly AFTER the final image.
          3. A completed Reflection will consist of thoughtful answers to the following questions:
            1. WHY did you choose the topic you did?
            2. WHAT made that topic important?
            3. HOW did you get your point across in your image?
            4. What are you most proud of about this project?
            5. What are you most disappointed in about this project?
            6. What grade should you get for how hard you worked? (A, B, C, NC, + or -)
            7. What grade should you get for how well you used the Photoshop software program? (A, B, C, NC, + or -)
            8. What grade should you get for your ideas and your artistry? (A, B, C, NC, + or -)
            9. Any comments you choose to write.
            10. STUDENTS SHOULD COPY AND PASTE THE QUESTIONS INTO THE GOOGLEDOC BEFORE ANSWERING.

    No typing web today!

    2. The Week Ahead (I do)
      1. TODAY: Work time, assemble final version to turn in
      2. TODAY after school: LAB OPEN UNTIL 4:30
      3. Friday: NO JOHN (All periods) - Add reflection & Rename document SUBMIT
    3. Work time (YOU do)
      1. TODAY: 
        1. FINISH: Downloading all images you think you will need (you can get more later) and save them on your student drive
        2. REMEMBER: Insert the images at the bottom of the Google doc. These will be your "Before" pictures and MUST be submitted in order to get credit
        3. Open the images in Photoshop
        4. Use your tools!
          1. Remember the resources on the upper right side of the blog
          2. Remember the manual taped to the back of the door
          3. REMEMBER all of the transformation tricks we learned.
        5. If you finish early...
          1. You can do an additional PSA
