Friday Routine


Learning Target(s):  I can stop, breathe, and refocus myself after meeting a major deadline.

Announcements: 

  • Next Monday we will finish typing our "I am the student I am today because..." so make sure you bring it!
  • Flash Drivers are here: 16 gigs for $12 [I have 2 left]

[ I say this because sometimes kids don't realize 

that we are NOT on DEADLINE anymore! ]



Friday Routine
  • Typing TEST 
  • Check Grades
    • Click on the PowerSchool link in the "Grind" section of the Blog [upper right]
      • Log in to PowerSchool
        • fyi, these are the grades that will be mailed home today...
      • Find your LOWEST grade and click on it
        • Figure out WHY you have that grade and move to the next task...
  • Open Planner
    • Plan for the next 7 days
    • Plan out WHEN you are going to take the time to work on your schoolwork (including reading) outside of classtime.
  • Check Email
    • Email the teacher of your lowest grade explaining how you are going to raise that grade.
    • HERE IS THE KIND OF THING YOU SHOULD SAY [Copy and paste this, filling in the blanks, if you wish]
      • "Dear Ms/r ______________, I noticed that I have a[n] ___  as a grade in your class.  Here are the things I am going to do to raise that grade ___________________.  Here are/is some/a question[s] I have about my grade _________________________.  Thank you!  YourName
    • CC john@envisionacademy.org on this email for credit
    • Use the following subject line:  FRIDAY GRADE CHECK - BLOCK ? - FIRST LASTNAME
      • If you have all B+ or higher grades you can choose to email the teacher you feel intellectually challenges you most and ask them a question you would like to know the answer to.  Make this serious; don't waste their time.

      • Bellow are ALL of your teacher's emails - remember you are only sending it to ONE of them...

    • I will be showing and grading keynotes while you work
    • The best way to be successful is to use your time wisely.  Take the rest of the period to do what YOU need to do most:
      • Improve your Keynote and REsubmit it with this NEW subject line:
        • RESubmit - Block ? - Me Keynote - First Lastname
      • Do some work to improve your grade in another class
      • Read a book
      • Play NitroType with a classmate
