Introduction to Presentations & Prezi

Purpose:
  • I can describe what presentation software is in general and why one might choose Prezi for a presentation.
Agenda:
  1. Silent Warm-up (class is silent): Go to typingWeb.com and do as many lessons as you accurately can in 10 minutes.
  2.  TeacherTalk (class is quiet unless called upon):
    1. Introduction to Presentations: http://prezi.com/9f_zldcat29g/introduction-to-presentations
    2. Another example: http://prezi.com/hurrn8cj7cb0/curiosity-mars-rover-landing-sequence/
    3. The Prezi Tutorials: http://prezi.com/learn/
      1. The Basics: Getting Started
    4. Good design: http://prezi.com/mkg9y_pl1cxd/presentation-on-presentations/
  3. Workshop (Table Talk, only the students right next to you can hear you talk)
    1. By the end of class on FRIDAY you must have the following completed:
      1. A Prezi with a minimum of 5 'slides' (frames, destinations)
      2. This Prezi must be about events in your life (they can be basic for now. Through your work in Natalia's, as well as in this class, you will expand and deepen these into a longer, narrated, presentation later)
      3. Before you can begin working on the computer you must:
        1. Complete the event organizer (John will give you a hard copy for class)
        2. Complete a rough sketch of what your Prezi will look like
        3. Have both initialed by John
