I AM part of the 99% and I TEACH the 99%.
i read about the people that are fighting to tax the rich. but the police wont let them do what they need to do.
I read about people who are the 99%. Struggling with economy because they don't get paid a lot while the 1% is enjoying everything. I do agree with the 99% because they are not only fighting for themselves but for every single person. The government is not doing anything because i think they have something to do with the 1%.
Sharit Cardenas period:1
I read stories about peoples lives and they talk about how the government does not help them but the government is willing to help others that don not have big needs like this people have. The conversation we had is that the government is not helping the people that really do need help. They are basically taking your rights away.
i am in 99% because its kinda hard to do things and buy things for myself. one thing that i read was some people couldn't pay for stuff #alexis
How are we supposed to stand and fight together if we don't even know how to treat each other?
In Occupy Oakland there has been so much violence, not only from the police, but every day in the way that we treat each other.
We are being oppressed, not only in the way that some of us are starving while the 1% throw it away.but in the way that we, the 99% don't even know how to treat each other in times of great need. How are we supposed to stand and fight side by side if do not even know this?
If we are to stand together we need to learn to love together.
I am the 99% and I am ready for change.

Well these when I read these stories and the struggles these people went through it made feel like they need help and they are fighting for us that's incredible. It also talk about the government not helping these people enough and 99% of these people need help and getting laid off of their jobs and paying to much taxes and making that person loose so much money that they can't support a family member and their selves.
These stories really touched me because these people DO need help and the government doesn't help them. Our discussion was about the government not helping the people mostly in need.

I feel that some of these people need their lives to change. Other ones need to go out and make a change in their lives instead of blaming wall street. But everyone's life is different and they will do whatever they want with the things that the have in life. Some people will try to get pity from the outside world. All of this is a strong thing an i think that they are being very courages to do this. I just feel they need to right out a list of what they want and the solutions to get what they need.
I do understand the whole purpose of the website. All these people have gone to College gotten degrees to have a better life but then they end up in debt and can't pay it off because they can't jobs in this economy. Debt would make more sense if after College they went out into the world and got real jobs to where they can actually pay off the debt. It also seems that the Government doesn't even care about people who have served for this country because they can't even give them simple medi-care. What is the whole point of serving for your country if you are not going to get simple medi-care in return SMH!!!!!!
i am 99% because its hard trying to feed your self with no money and a place to sleep.

I think the people who are telling their story are saying that they are barely making it through and that they are lucky because their are more people who have it worst than them. This is why they are having a strike for the wall street (1%) to know that WE (99%) matter.
I read about the 99% who cant always pay bills and get kicked out of their houses. I dont think its fair that some people cant have the same benefits as others. Like how they talk about the big companies always getting let off the hook cos theyre too big to go down.

I think this is some bullshit why because the 1% who is wealthy and are rich they get everything , And the people who really needed dont get nothing why cause we got corrupt politicians and we should change that. This is en quality !

I am the 99% because my family and I do not receive any medical insurance and and our taxes are too high. I don't always get to go shopping like other people and don't have a nice cell phone either. Our family uses the money we have to pay bills and get groceries. I'm happy that I have a roof over my head and a family that supports me, but I fear we can not stay in California for very long. My education may be in danger because I want to go to college and study fashion design and styling. My parents support me, but they do not have a lot of money. My father quit his job a few months ago because of the poor conditions, distrusted bosses and it being so far away from Oakland. He's had the same profession all his life and he doesn't know anything else. He had been working part time at another dental office, so when he quit, he worked at Geodent (the part time office) from then on. He only works part time there but his boss cares for him and says good thing about my dad to other workers in the same field as my dad. At the moment, I am happy that I have two loving parents and enough money to support us for the time being. I just fear for my future.
I am the 99%. We live with my grandma and its 4 of us in that house and its sometimes a struggle to make it . I do my best in school to keep from having to worry about my future tho I am scared on how I'm going to make it in college . The 99% is real working people who work real jobs and struggle to make it in the real world . I am the 99% .

I am 99% , my mom works 40 hours a week. Even though my mom doesn't struggle with much our family still doesn't own our house or her car. The government doesn't help my mom with anything she does everything on her own, but they ( the government ) are making it to where she will eventually need government assistance.
i think the people are trying to say what they are going threw and how its unfair that they work their but off and stil dont get nothing.

I read about the 99% of people who struggle to get by. The other 1% rather buy brand new companies for millions of dollars instead of helping someone with a disability who can take their life away. Not only that one person, but millions of people who are affected. This shows who ignorant and stupid this shit is... some people don't care because they haven't gotten to that point, but if they did, they would have known how important it is to get help from someone...
I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND HOW 99 PERCENT OF PEOPLE ARE STRUGGLEING TO SAVE THEMSELVES AND HAVE TO WORK ON MAKING IT THROUGH LIFE. WHILE OTHER PEOPLE - THE 1 PERCENT WHO MAKE TONS OF MONEY ARE FLYING THROUGH LIFE ASIF IT'S NITHING. SOME ONE PERCENT PEOPLE WANT TO GIVE BACK WHILE OTHERS DON'T CARE. I AM APART OF THE 99 PERCENT BECAUSE MY MOM WORKS A LOT AND EVERYDAY BUT YET I CAN'T GET A NEW PAIR OF SHOES OR EVEN A JACKET WITHOUT HER FLIPPING OUT ON ME ABOUT SAVING MONEY.BEING APART OF THE 99 PERCENT, DOESN'T MAKE ME FEEL GOOD BUT IT HELPS ME UNDERSTAND THAT MY SITUATION ISN'T AS BAD AS OTHERS.I'M A PAY CHECK AWAY FROM WEARING THE SMAE CLOTHES FROM 6TH GRADE

I read 99% of the people's entries and i noticed that a majority of the people talk about their everyday struggles, paying the rent, trying to get benifits, raising kids, etc. 1% of the [rich] people aren't doing anything and they hog all the power. Basically, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer! The 1 percent steal from the poor and give to the rich! i'm part of the 99% because i live with these people that see the world the way it is today.
people who have went to ivy leauge collages and graduated with great GPAs still cant get a good job. In the society we live in going to college is kind of a requirement in order to get good work. The people who made these rules( the 1%) are obviously not abiding by them. These people who work 60-70 hours a week, who served our country, who went to some of the best collages in the us are barely able to get by. This is bullshit. The people who have followed the social norm to be successful have not aquired that that was promised.

Period 2:I have read heard and seen all of the 99% percent movement on tv and im not part of the 99% percent but i think i im not sure but i support what they are protesting for becuase the banks are taking away homes when the goverment gives the bank money so thats not right or fair, the 99% of people are struggaling to pay taxis and the 1% are billionares getting lower taxis the goverment should flip that law around give higher taxis to the 1% and lower taxis to the 99%

On the web site http://wearethe99percent.tumblr.com/ we read articles that are under a title called the other 99%. The articles are basically about how 99% of us in this world struggle to make ends met.HOW THE OTHER one percent of the world is worried about buying exspensive things probably like gucci, lui, vendi , parda or even 1 million dollar factorys or houses. US 99% ARE INVISIBLE>.

It's so sad to see oakland struggling; this is just some b.s. because we don't deserve this!!! Wish this could all fade away but this is reality and we can't always undo things...we need to not just sit down and watch wall stred feed on what our parents, family members, and everyone out here in Oakland work their butts off and all of that drain to wall street. The stupid thing is that wall street people were trying to brainwash many people against obama to think that he is the one causing all the economy downturn, no! It's actually them and they are trying to lay all the accusations on him by saying he was the one and IS the one "wasting" money on donations to people out there who DEPEND on us...smh.

I think that people are trying to prove a point and say that everybody dont get fair income. Even if they work in the army or anything . They still dont get the income they deserve. the lady that had the tumor lost everything she had. She should at least get more income for her disability.
I think that it is unfair that the country or more the government operates off of the fact that most of all there money gos to big corporations and by doing so leaving the rest of the people (99%) with no money because the government is bailing out banks giving out eviction notices.

From what iv read about the 99% it seems like everyone who isn't famous is part of the 99%. If your part of the 99% then you struggle on paying for things and/or own money
as i read about the 99% of people who struggle
a lot rather its about money or health issues.
the other 1% only care about buying brand new companies that
cost millions of dallor 's instead of helping people in need.
to me this just shows me who is selfish and really dosn't care
because they belive this wont happen to them because if they did they would have know how important it is .
i read the letters that people wrote and it seems that the people who dont have money for things they NEED are the 99% and even the people who went to college and have degrees are apart of the 99% because of all the debt that they have for their education
...im the 99% because my mom work everyday from 6 in the morning to 6 in the afternoon. She has a very decenent job for kaiser but we struggle to pay the morgage on time and all the necessities in life that are promised with a good paying job are hard to receive. I am the 99%
I think that this is about how people in oakland are struggling to make a place in this society.how mostly everybody barely is surviving off of the income that they receive. and thats npt a good look for Oakland

So i read some of these picture people and I probably still need like a little more of an explanation to this thing. But from the little i was able to understand, the 99% is like the people who struggle daily with bills and rent and all that kind of things. Honestly, I think I probably am that 99% if i put myself to really think about it. This is another of the many reasons why I hate the government, because they are unfair and they only worry about their dumb wars and politics :P This place has never been that whole "Freedom" place. The whole American Dream thing is just crap! (Amen to that!)

Ivonne Garcia Period 2:
After reading about the 99% struggles, i've realized that there is more people in the world who are struggling because of the bank and government. Instead of giving the money to the police,jail...etc they should help out schools and people who are really struggling. There is many people affected by it and there is more people being homeless everyday.....
