TUE: Family Conference Prep

I was so proud of you all last Thursday night!


 Today we are preparing for our future by reflecting on our past and making goals that we can keep on our own.  We are also going to set goals that require the help of our school and home communities.  For any of this to "work" we need to be honest with ourselves and those around us.  

 That's why we are having YOU run your own family conference.

  • Announcement(s) [05]
    • Class meets in 101 all week
    • Make sure you have your notecards with you ALL week to get the highest grade on your Testimonio Keynote
  • The AR Scores [05]
    • How to use this when reflecting and goal setting
      • The GE (Grade Equivalent) is your "AR Score"
      • This is the August score that you already know but with much more detail
      • Some of this might be 'upsetting' if you have the wrong attitude (knowing is better)
      • Correlate your grades to your reading level
        • Look at the instructional level score
        • If you are struggling in any class...
          • turn off the TV
          • put away the phone/tablet
          • turn off the video game console

WED/THUR: Practice, practice, practice (or, if you want to pay for it...)


  • Practice, practice, practice...
  • If you made a fatal error and need to make a change to your Keynote you have 2 options (DO NOT UNSUBMIT)
    1. MINOR CHANGES ARE FREE: If you can make your changes in 10 minutes or less you may do so without penalty.
      1. Submit it to the NEW Assignment in Google Classroom.
      2. If you are late by even 1 second you will lose ONE FULL GRADE POINT
    2. MAJOR CHANGES COST YOU ONE FULL GRADE POINT: If you need more than 10 minutes you may still work on your Keynote for the full 100 minutes 
      1. If you take even 1 second more than 10 minutes you will lose ONE FULL GRADE POINT so 11 minutes costs as much as 100
      2. Submit it to the NEW Assignment in Google Classroom.
