Extra Credit: Current Events

go to the BBC Website at www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-14841746 and read the article on the President's speech last night.  Return here to comment mentioning these three points:


  1. What do you think, from reading this article, the problem with the US economy is?
  2. From what you read in the article, do you think the President's actions will help? 
  3. What do you think about the reactions to his speech?

    I think Obama NOW is trying to fix the economy because he wants to run for president again. Also, because recently he proposed a bill that said "Immigrants can't be Deported for crimes that aren't that serious". He's just trying to convince the voters for the next election.

    1. I think the problem with the US is that we don't have a lot of money.
    2. It don't seem like the President is doing anything.

    I think that its good that he is trying to help people with jobs. But, he has made a lot of speeches about how we need a good economy but he isn't doing anything about that. He promised a better economy before he became president but that hasn't happened. I think that people who are asking themselves where President Obama is planning to get money for all this are right.

    I think that yeah his proposals could help . We need more jobs to improve the unemployment. But I also think that he needs to full fill the promises he make.
